The original BSX (when I worked there) was fitted with a pair of 8 ohm RCF L18-851 drivers. The RCF was later replaced with a custom Celestion and somewhere on speakerplans there are a couple of threads about the various drive units used by Martin in the 1980's / 90's.

There was a JBL 18" that worked very well in these (can't quite remember the number, 2240 maybe?), but obviously not an option these days.

The box was sized to fit underneath an RS1200 one-box system and if you ever encounter one of those you will discover the real meaning of the word "heavy"...

Now you have the boxes and dimensions, simulation is the way to go.

How far did you get with the BSX?
I'm currently looking at the rcf and the celestion, that would of ended up in BSX.

Update.

Have had very disappointing results with certain 18sound reflex driver.

Further research indicates Fane Colossus 18B400 was a flyer in this cab.

However, to make this cab worth it's space, I  need pair of optimal 1kw drivers in each cab.

Amplifier power is not a problem, neither is venue power... (For once)

Currently considering Fane Colossus Prime 18XS/ B&C 18TBX100

Do you know the cabinets tuning and volume?
And which 18sound driver did you test?

2x cabs are loaded in venue, other cabs are unloaded,  in locked room under  pile of gear, so no measurements made, to allow sims.

Compared to recommended drivers, the parameters of drivers I bought were very different.

Looked at parameters of Fane 18B400,  found some very similar with higher  power rating.

So your time to drag them out, fit some random drivers and play some tunes - more than once - apparently costs less than getting one out to do measurements?

Tried the 18sound 18LW2420, myself and FOH Engineer, found them acceptable, but not impressive, in this cab.

Another PA Dude has recommended Fane 18XS or B&C 18TBX100.
