Hi,

i have 4 hogs loaded with void v18-1000, 2 USB , and 2 eaw kf695's.  If these were playing at full tilt, how many people could this provide for outside? a VERY rough estimate?

obviously this is entirely subjective but im asking from people with experience with systems of this sort of size, music will be electronic dance music.

thanks,

Matt

depends if DJ or Live, Classical, thrash metal or techno, and whether its to provide background tunes to a vicars tea party or something young people with bucket hats want to go too.

The EAW's would not have a problem with volume once you feed them with enough power. The old KF Series has always been looked upon by many as Rock & Roll boxes. So, loud, has always been the objective with that series. Not to mention, tops usually are the least of your troubles outdoors in terms of coverage providing you feed them enough power. Stacked high enough and the KF 695 boxes will be heard blocks away loud and clear.

The bass, on the other hand will be your limiting factor and, will determine how much you can accomplish due to having only four boxes for bass. You do not have the reliability of walls and ceilings outdoors to achieve that "room gain affect" that many are accustomed to getting when the majority of the time they play indoors.

If you want to get an idea what to expect in terms of population, you can look at Channel One as reference when playing outdoors and, cut the punters by half. That will give you a rough estimate what you can expect with such a small setup... provided you have enough power of course!

Best Regards,
