Why are you not using simplified ratios, 8:32 = 1:4, 4:64 = 1:16… ironically you are always complain about amp manufactures inflating numbers!!

I don't know enough to really get involved... But 8ms on and then 32ms off doesn't sound like something that should be simplified by a ratio.. 1ms on and then 4ms off wouldn't be the same test.

I was being pedantic…  Mr Viktor didn’t specify ms, he only expressed a ratio and was trying to imply that an amp rated at 1000 watts can only do 250watts, while this may be true playing sign waves, it doesn’t ring true for a dynamic signal such as audio.

Yes - that´s just part of audio jargon. We do it all the time, like in any arcane - or esoteric field like sound!   LOL
