What would you say is a comfortable outdoors venue capacity / crowd size that could be covered by a system based around 4x scoops (hogs) and 4x HD15 loaded with quality drivers? (assuming adequate amp power)

Just looking for a rough ballpark. Also interested to hear opinions on suitable indoor venue cap.

Thanks

Actually one of the most important bits of working out cap is what tops you’re using. More or less bass and kick just mean people feel it more or less physically and is very much about what kind of show you’re putting on. Mid/top is where you get crowd coverage in terms of actually being able to hear the tunes so info on these would be needed as well.
blah blah blah blah blah......

The ideal situation is to have the person at the back of the room to still have perfect line of site view to your mids and tops, that's the best rough way to get decent coverage in a "larger" room

With hogs due to their shorter height, and in combination with the HD15, midrange stacked on that may be firing into tall peoples heads, which in turn will restrict the coverage in a room (ish! very rough and ready explanation)

Assuming some high power modern drivers, with modern high power amplification, then combined with tall enough high power mid tops, I would guesstimate at 500 people

Now that entirely depends on how "intense" you'd want it to be for those 500 people Tongue

How well treated the room is (that is if you are in a room) will have an effect as well vs outside

We covered a 550 capacity venue a couple of weeks ago with 4 hogs & 4 hd15. I also have nice mid tops and very good amps and we had an SPL limit that meant we couldn't push it to war levels of power but coverage was good. I would not have wanted to do a larger room than that without a 2nd stack.
