Any ideas as to why it started doing this. Left channel leds maxed out. Still works fine sound equal from both channels. Just a very slight leakage sound at idle from the left channel. Pre amp? I opened it up and pretty tight in there so asking first. Searched for common faults but nothing. Thanks for any help.

Probably a LED driver IC gone bad or some discrete component in that circuit.

Thanks as always for your help Peter. I maybe thought an ic chip but quite where I don't know. The led pcb is easy to remove so will start there.
Meat pm sent. Not the best mixer I know but still very clean so maybe worth a shot. Thanks both of you for helping. Much appreciated.

It appears to be a pcp bad printing problem. Poor connections to the led ic. I removed and re soldered the ic. But close inspection of the board showed a lack of solder around the mounting holes. I didn't destroy it when removing the ic. I was super careful. It works now still have one light flickering very slightly but that was the worst joint. I can live with it for now.
Thanks again and the service manual is really handy to have meat substitute. No doubt I will need it.

I had the same problem with the Matrix STR amps we used to use, at any one time at least one of them would have all the VU LEDs lit on one channel, the VU meters were never that accurate anyway so we were never in a hurry to get it sorted!

If it was on amps and not effecting sound maybe I wouldn't care. On a mixer it's just bloody annoying. Never the less it seems fixed.
