I think it's interesting to compare how the two areas, differed in as far of the sound system development and progression. It seems that the really big difference between Canada and England, is the figure of Jah Shaka, and the whole roots and dub scene he spawned in the uk when the other sounds moved onto the King Jammy's riddims, and more Dj focussed dances. In Canada it seems as though the reggae sounds have followed a lot more closely to the development of sound system in Jamaica, and kept a more underground vibe, playing a lot of specials and playing music i'd reckon was pretty much all produced in Jamaica. As far as dub in Canada there are a handful of dub sounds/Uk dub inspired sounds, who follow the UK roots style but also seen a few events posted where they play out with some Dancehall DJ's(as in MCs), doing some rub a dub nights and stuff like that.
