Hi all new to the forum so please be nice ;-)

i have 12 function1 218 copy's about 10 years old now
currently there loaded with PD1850 but some need replacing

so my question is this
should i just get them all reconed or should i reload with 186's i have been told that in that box the 186 will work/sound better than the 1850

Thanks Rich

To you how did/does it sound with the 1850's loaded in them ? Have you ever heard the similar cab loaded with 186's ?

i would say that the original drive would have been a PD but over the years i have come across these bins ranging in power from 400w up to 1200w  so who know what the original specs stated !!
what i can say is the lower power cabs seem to have a lower bass response when used singly than mine with 1850's loaded in them

I have a pair of bins very similiar to these, and have also heard that PD188 or a variant is the original driver.

But with the recent PD blues, was hoping another driver was also very suitable. The similiar USB design, seems to favour ardently reflex drivers..

Comments, Dom?

so the original driver was a variant of the pd188
so id assume getting some pd188 would be a good idea, if not compare the t/s of the pd188 to others

PD seem a little coy about stating Xmax for PD188 in the PDF...

Using given Gap Depth and Voice coil height, If I am not mistaken

Xmax = (Hc - Hg)/2 = (19 - 11)/2,   So PD188 Xmax = 4mm ?

Coincidence?  LOLLOL
