ey up.

Anybody have tips for EQ and crossover settings when playing mostly dub and drum & bass music?

We have 2 x 18" 650w eminence and 1 x 15" 800w eminence,  2 x 12" 250w eminence and 3 x motorola tweeters.

Are there any 'rules of thumb' when it comes to setting the best crossover points?

Hi Milo,
my humble opinion it's that when you want to play dub music in a proper way, a custom made preamp can do the work more than any other gear. It works as crossover, with crossovering points made just for that kind of vibes and boxes, you got a lot of equalization possibilities, knobs etc, and (last but not least) you can enjoy with some "kill" switches...
Think about it Tongue

PS Why not consider increasing the tweeter section? Piezo are cheap and they blow so easily...buy some more of that!

check out JTS preamps. (http://www.jtsstudio.co.uk/pages/preamps.htm)
mskeete, one of our own members is also a respected builder.

Crossover points on these are fixed, but can be changed at the time of build.
I'd hire a LMS first to obtain your crossover points.

HTH.
