I have a single Alpine Type R 12", Dual voice coil, 2x4ohms. 1000w MAX, 300w RMS
I want to know the perfect alpine amp for this sub. And the wiring technique?
Also if someone knows the box dimensions that could help.

Hi the alpine to match would probably be an mrp 850 , 800 watts into 2 ohms, another good match for the sub would be a kenwood 9103 500w rms into 4 ohms 900w into 2 ohms a great amp and cheaper , i have last years model quality bass and built to last, and two can be bridged together for 1800w rms
hope this helps alittle

Isn't 500rms to high if my speaker say 300rms. Is the mrd-m300 not good? I can get this amp for $75. Or would the ALPINE-MRV-T420 for $100 be a better deal. Let me know quick! |

Hi both those amps will be ok, although was just thinking of the upgrade paths as it s always best to have too much power rather than not enough.
500w fill work just fine with an alpine sub, they last for ever as long as you are carefull, and put it in a decent box etc.
Personally would buy the most powerfull into rms bridged, as they are both a good deal. Edited by Import racer - 20 November 2007 at 2:24pm |
