replace the hatches with ali 3/4mm sheets cut to the profile... plus one on the back for good measure if cabs stacked on sides..
taking apart a built cab will be bloody difficult, and destructive.. if good glue has been used.. laminates will be ripping..

Replace the Ciare with a lighter coned and more efficient driver so you can use less power. It would change the character of the Punisher, probably not so capable at the bottom end but maybe more kicky.

Yeah, the obvious way to stop them overheating is to run less power into them.
I tried drivers like the B&C 12TBX100 in simulations and the response looked generally flatter and slightly more efficient. I reckon it's worth an experiment. In answer to one of your questions on another thread. I tried my Punishers (when I had them) up to about 140Hz. They start needing a bit of EQ at the top end but 120Hz is definitely ok, maybe a bit higher depending on what music/midtops etc. |

The brace is in the way directly behind the magnet so extending that
way is going to be difficult, can you not recone the MK1 drivers
rarther than use MK2 drivers? That would give more space.
Fane collosus 12MB looked good on a sim as i remember, should sound
tighter but wont go quite as loud. Its got a fairly solid mullur
(spelling?) cone so i recon it should survive if you dont drive them
too hard.

Colossus 12MB probably wouldn't be on my list....
B&C, 18Sound, Beyma all do a big 12" Sub driver with the same magnet as their high end 18" drivers. That's the sort of thing I'm talking about. |
