party, now with pictures.

right now i am a very happy man. last night i took out the big dome tent
and a four way system for a fat moon psy trance gathering (and send off
for mark and cheryl who are going away to the antipodes). the event was
small and intimate in a beautiful secluded setting.

system consisted of fane 18xb scoops running 40-60Hz on a peavey
1.3k, martin 215 markII with mckenzie low res drivers on a ram bu-2000
doing 60-240Hz, mckenzie c10-100gp powered by 1977 mm ap360 in
two of our scaled single driver variant of the mt122s a side playing 240 to
3k and then inch and half rcf compression drivers on a big cast ally
conical horn up top.

it wasn't flat out by any means, but there was plenty of headroom and
everything really sounded increadibly tight and together, in no small way
because rich had done some ultradrive furtling and got the delays pretty
coherent, the whump from the subs hit you at the same time as the the
thud from the kickers. this was all doing nice things in relation the the
whipcrack of a snap the 10s. i am going to try and do some objective
analysis of those mid range horns, they are frighteningly good in
comparison to our eminence single 12" horns, now up for grabs.

the vibe was chilled and cosy, the music was fantastic, we shut the system
down at 6 leaving the lovely little chillout rig playing and left nothing but
trampled grass by 8. a good time was had by all. when i upload my
terrible phone camera pictures i shall post accordingly.

that was my first proper outdoor free party, i've done free parties, i've
done outdoor things but that was the pinacle of that activity for me, and
the start of many great things i hope. comments about the system were
favourable, as in 'free party systems don't usually sound like this!'.
