Hi all,

I've got an interesting one for you.

I've got a bunch of Martin disco lights which are not DMX (although considering going down that route soon).  I have a "Martin MC Switch" switch box for them (here's the link).

As you can see, you do power in to the distribution box, then you plug the lights in via standard IEC into the distribution box, then link the distribution box to a switch pack via a Cat 5e cable.  So the Cat 5e cable carries only signals to tell the light to be on or off and enough juice to power the small "on" led.  I think...

I was wondering if it would be possible to have a programme that sent the on/off signal from the computer via the ethernet or modem port and Cat 5e cable?  I have a MacBook and a friend who is a software engineer who is competent with Linux, but I was just wondering if anybody knew if this was possible or has already been done
