Been through the X1 posts but can't find a 'definitive' answer.

@People that have built the X1,what drivers have u used?

Scoops I have r taking up too much space, plus I don't get the chance to use them that often. So I would like to downscale to the X1's(a Pair) as these would be better a)space wise b)music I play(Reggae/RnB/Hip Hop).

I know of the obvious choices,Void,PD & P Audio.I would ideally like a reply from u guys that have made/used/heard them.

Cheers

Thats strange how he blew them then, as a bridged PLX3402 only gives each 1000w rms Void, 1700w rms each; not terriblly over powering them or anything like that.

Maybe something was clipping along the line[mixer, or amps or processor], or the compressor/limiter was compressing too hard and blew the speakers.Or the amp went DC.Or he was using a generator and the power spiked or dropped.

Any of those things could have broken the VOID drivers.

A good idea might be to ask AG Pro Audio whether they have had any problems with the OEM. Said to be a quality driver and almost no manufacturer will ever give out statistical data on failiures and nobody wants to see another I hurt my friend thread.

Hello people

No problem so far with Void OEM manufacturer. Very happy with him. Last year we had only one driver VC burned because of over powering (2200W RMS), clipping (no limiter) and bad processing (no proper low pass filter) !!! It lasts 30 minutes in the field based on this torture test (my design uses a closed chamber, so power compression and thermal issue are more important than in a vented cab like X1).

PS : Timber, sorry for being in silence mode for very long time, my schedule with new products R&D was crazy

Huh?  How would that blow a speaker?
