Hi folks,

first of all:
i'm not familiar with design modification and the effects it brings. So that's why i post this question.
I want to build 12'' boxes to use them as mids in a stack and like to have a seperate section for the horns.
Is it okay to build the box with just the two 12'' drivers and reduce its measurement by the height of the  horn part so that the bottom of the box (as shown in the plan) and the top are the same?
Does it effect the driver performance?
Or are there better alternatives that should be used for mids?

Thanks a lot in advance!

P.S.: Haven't found any info in the forum on that issue so far.

You should use some software like WinISD Pro to adjust the port tuning so that it stays the same after reducing the volume of the box.  Otherwise it's a good solution for the 120-1.2kHz kind of region.
