http://www.danleysoundlabs.com/tapped_horn.asp?MODEL=TH%20221

neo magnets. i thought they were b&c initially but i think they have 8 spokes on the basket. it's hard to tell from the photo. anyone recognise them?

Well,  seems DSL are using alot of new faital pro neos, and those drivers seem to have the distinctive
faital magnet structure.  Faital don't have a 21" model listed on their site, so could be oem.

Yer. You noticed them on the synergies as well?

Comps as well. Their phase plug up to throat thing seems to do quite well.
Away on extended leave.

Blow up the pdf to 300%~400%, you will see it's the B&C.

Its basically one driver facing one way and another driver wired 180 degrees out of phase (Positive wire connected to negative terminal, negative wire connected to positive terminal) facing the other way. This makes them basically behave like one driver. When one pushes, the other pulls and vice versa hence push-pull cabs.

Wiring a driver out of phase will make it move forwards when it should be moving backwards etc...
It creates a perfectly inverse signal

Sorry if you knew the phase stuff but I'm not sure how much you already knowSmile

why do manufactureres always seem to pull the really good ranges and continue the useless ones! grr...

james.

Why not use 12P1000Nd model instead?

I've made a pair of 1*12" tapped subs with them for live music bar. (or should I call them bass cabs since they're tuned to 45Hz). Works well. Design guidelines are in same ballpark as in DJK's 40Hz example.

a4 = 3080e-4; |Area at mouth (cm^2)
l1 = 15e-2; |Distance from throat to rear of driver (cm)

Tested 'em with ev CP-3000S in bridge mode, clipping (more or less 1600W peak each), until I could smell the glue getting hotLOL.

No excursion problems (x mech 52mm p-p). Bar drives them with 2x PSL1200 in bridge (2x 8R load). Limiters set from -1dB from clip. Running everyday, no problems.
