Every pic I see has the scoops positioned driver up, or on their side, any reason you could not put the driver down? (upside down from the norm)

well with the cabinet right side up the horn path is extended by the ground, generally scoops are laid on there sides when stacking because it keeps the stack shorter. so yes they can be set upside down with no major downside.

I was just thinking that it would lower the center of gravity and make them more stable.
If it was easy, everyone would do it!
