I've just bought 4 adlib audio speakers 12" with 2" horn and I'm after a bit of advice with choosing poweramps and a crossover. I'm on a budget so i'm looking at second hand qsc rmx or t.amp stuff
The speakers are loaded with 12" JBL 2206h 8ohm and 2" B&C DE 85 16ohm and need to be bi-amped. I'll be running these tops in a 3 way stereo setup with adlib audio 15" subs. Is the DBX234xl a suitable crossover for this setup?
For poweramps I've currently got available a qsc rmx 1850hd and a qsc gx5. I'm considering getting a second rmx 1850 and bridge each one into two 12" mids then running the gx5 into the 2" horns. this would mean putting 1800w into 2 600" drivers or 1100 into 1 600w driver if running one top a side on smaller gigs. Is this overpowering it to much? Would i be best getting one big amp such as a proline 2700 or 3000 to run the 12"s and use the rmx1850 for horns?
My other question is if I was to run one top a side this would mean running the 2" horn on 16ohms can the gx5 or rmx1850 handle this?
Hope this makes some sense
Steve
