Hi, I would't use this speaker at all. It is more suited for free-air application as it needs lots of Liters. In Bassreflex 195.8 Liters is needed to go down to 35 Hz. In bandpass the box will even be bigger.

forget all normal simuation situations, as the wofer is placed IN a car. LOw freq. boost is huge, so no big enclosure is needed. (to get output under 80hz. (for example) |

I would say 3cuft(about 85litres) sealed. The series 1(getting old now-prolly 10 years!) were most commonly used in large sealed. You want the roll-off to start around 70hz and be around 15-20db down at 20hz. This will give a relatively flat respons in a car. A 4th/6th order cab for a series 1 would be the size of a small fridge...

the thing is that it is in a sealed cab thats about 3cuft at the moment but i have a large boot in my new car so i thought it might make a change to stick it in a larger bandpass, do you think it would sound better in a 3ft reflex or a larger bandpass (as i have the space to fit a small fridge in the boot, and the cab will have speakon plugs wired in for quick removal
