If anything, the PD 1550 has lower Le, lower EBP and lighter mms than the PD 154, wich i read in this section of the forum is all better for playing higher frequencies. I used the 1550 succesfully up to 350 hz in a bass reflex box, and i liked the result very much

Hello again,
one question: is it possible for me to recone a PD 158 basket with a PD 1550 recone kit ? will that make a PD1550 then ? Edited by ultramars10 - 09 June 2016 at 1:42am |

no. the magnet is still a PD158, not 1550.

looking again at the specs, i see indeed that the flux density and Magnet Gap Depth are different, so theses are different magnets indeed.
Thanx for this valuable answer anyway, u just saved a fully functionnal PD 158 membrane |
