I'm getting ready to get ahold of a Audi TT coupe (the automatic 180hp, the TT with better milage). I'm thinkin a pair of P. Audio TM-10s with a JBL BPX1100.1 amp to go with them. i modeled both the TM-10s and the TM-12s, both come VERY CLOSE "basicly the exact same SPL between 36hz-72hz" if the TM-10s have EQ work of (45hz/1oct/+2db). i would take the TM-12s over the TM-10s, but sence the Audi TT has somewhat of a limited size on trunk space, TM-10s would be the better choice.

so heres what i'm lookin at.

two seperate vented enclosures, each 1cuf (28.32L) and tuned at 41.18hz. with the EQ work and what the JBL amp will allow, this gives me a playable 36hz-280hz *cut off at 35hz and 300hz* (-3db) all flat. modeling done with WinISD so ofcourse when it gets in the car there will be a hype on the lower part of the responce. i am unsure of the actual measurements of the actual box, but what i've done is try to get the maximume out of it with a rather small enclosure *modeled with a 12"x12"x12" (30.48cmX30.48cmX30.48cm) vented box*.

i've made sure that with this design and EQ work and tuning, that the Xmax isn't passed and responce has no dips. i am aware the amp is capable of underpowering damage, i'm not worried about this i will calibrate for this when i set it all up.

here is the modeling charts of responce/spl/xmax of both the TM-10 and TM-12 in pairs using the same box size and tuning by perportion at thier rated RMS power of 400watt per woofer. (Using the RMS power of the amp at 334watt 2x channels at 4ohm, the SPL has a .8db diffrence).

Hows this all look to everyone? have i hit the mark just about right?

Hello,

I have seen no bigger junk than the P-Audio TM-series. I own two TM-8 drivers and they sound like crap. Really I am serious, do not use these. They produce lots of unwanted resonance sound when driven loud. Something like partial vibrations of the spider of some sort.

To be honest, I am staying far away from any P-Audio drivers from now on. I will not use this brand in any future design. If you sent them a mail you never get any answer. I don't like that. Very difficult to get any T/S parameters that not have changed when they have updated the website. Also the T/S on the box they come in are different from what is on the website.

Best regards,

Walt

what did you use the TMs for? they are only ment for indoor house use or car subwoofer systems. not pro audio use. mainly good for omputer sound systems and or compact car settups.
