hi,
first: sorry for my bad english. i am a jung man from germany and i have spend not much time in englishlessons :) what do you think about monacor speakers in the x1? for example: SP-46A/500BS http://www.monacor.de/de/produktseite_stageline.php?artid=36 34&spr=DE&typ=u or SP-46A/500PA http://www.monacor.de/de/produktseite_stageline.php?artid=74 &spr=DE&typ=u know sombody somthing about this speakers?? are they good? or not?? i can get 2 of them for only 500 euro! should i take it or do you know better one for less money? thx for help... flo |

They look like p.audio clone knockoffs. First one is a definate NO. It will get torn up in the X1. SP-46A/500PA has a BL of 29.1 Tm,QTS of 0.25, xmax is only 6mm and power handling is only 500w rms though. So I bet that would get torn up in the X1 too as the xmax is fairly low. Why don't you go for the P.audio SD18 or Void V18-1000 or PD1850 instead? No point skimping on price for that design cos you are gonna be paying double or more when the drivers you listed are gonna get damaged in the X1.

well,....toxic....they are p-audio OEM monacor does not build anything, they just put their logo onto other people's merchandise  |

I will agree with Toxic that the first driver probably isn't suitable
for much and definitely not the best choice for the X1. The
second one looks like a much more useful driver, high-ish BL etc, not
the optimum if you want to run an X1 hard but might be ok for moderate
volumes.
Bandpass cabinets such as the X1 are quite fussy about speaker parameters. Would be safer to use a recommended driver. Or use WinISD or another program to simulate different drivers to find one which will work well. |

ok... P.audio SD18 or Void V18-1000 or PD1850 which one is the best of this speakers? the void V18-1000 looks good and i can get them very cheap. do you know where i can get the other speakers in germany? |

If you can get the V18-1000 cheap then you might as well use that. Others have used them in the X1 with good results.
