Tony is still active on Facebook. He is now retired from the speaker business and has sold his big workshop tools and stock as well as his old hifi cabs but I imagine he's still playing guitar with his mates. It may be worth contacting him on Facebook if you have any questions regarding his cabs.

For sidefills, can we have two enormous things of a type that might be venerated as Gods by the inhabitants of Easter Island, capable of reaching volumes that would make Beelzebub soil his pants.

Was around May 2000, when Mean Fiddler took over The Astoria. All the Martin stuff was taken out and that disco rig was put in. That's what it was known as About six months after that, The Astoria almost lost its licence due to the Police and Westminster City Council. That was the night So Solid Crew were playing there. Some piece of shit opened one of the fire exits, and a load of scumbags came in with the gun that was used inside. That caused us no end of problems, the Manager at the time was made the scapegoat. His name was Matt Talbot, he was replaced by a guy we called helicopter, aka Mark Ellicott, the former manager of The Forum(Town & Country Club), in Kentish Town. Incidentally, Oasis played the Astoria/Mean Fiddler opening night party. And what a night of ill behaviour it was too Also, in the contract that was made way before the venue was closed, Crossrail were supposed to find an equal size venue that is suitable for live music in the area so the business could stay operational. Well that never happened due to no suitable properties in the area. Allegedly. That was the excuse anyway. Some crooked shit happening behind the scenes, listed buildings demolished and whatnot. Been closed 10 years already Edited by Battered - 11 November 2019 at 11:56pm |
