so I have been playing about it winisd. Normally people put the 18xb in 200 liter boxes with a 40 Hz tuning. But I have noticed that this, whilst giving decent low end extension, is quite a big box and also dips slightly at about 70-100Hz, surly more useable musical information is around here rather than at 38-45Hz where this box peaks?

I have found that changing the volume to 160Liters gives you a flatter responce, more SPL around 70-100Hz, 3ms less group delay and a 20% reduction in box size and is only 2Hz off the other box in low extension at -3dB gain.

This probably makes bugger all diference to the naked ear, but if you are building a quite a few of these enclosures as I am  going to be when the weather gets better, it would make a noticable difference in cost of wood and you could fit an extra couple in the back of a van.
