You are right there.. still, one day we'll make it up.. maybe over the summer.

What are the best venues for a 4 scoop sound in York these days? I hear the Arts Center is long gone..

Haha yeah as kewy says, it's now a rather disappointing, supposedly classy, bar... can only imagine how disappointing it would be if you knew it as the Art Centre before, was before my time but have heard plenty of fond reminiscences!

Have looked into various possibilities and the Crescent working men's club we're doing Irie Vibes at seems only place you can bring in a 4 scoop sound and crank it (had Channel One in Feb and there was ceiling plaster on the floor! Big smile).
There's a smaller WMC we recently started doing monthly free session at, but we only bring 2 scoops and don't proper pump it out, cos there's a Premier Inn on both sides of it, who're not that keen on having their coffee cups rattled!
(They're sound enough though- they book in the stag and hen parties' rooms adjacent to us, since they'll all be too battered to complain Smile)

Do get in touch if you're thinking making the trip up, might be able to sort something out Smile I think we're settling on doing 3rd Saturdays of the month (we switched so as not to compete with Subdub on the 1st sats!). Gonna have to suck it and see when the summer hols come though, as the students are prob the bigger part of our audience.
