I have 18" hornsubs playing to 100Hz and some BMS 4592ND playing down to 800HZ (yes they can go lower but not with my horns)
Now I need something in between, I am really (really really really Wink) into good sound.
Maybe 15" short horn would be good?

Controlling / Amping is Powersoft K Series. (K6 for the 18" K2 for the 4592)

if your one for good sound you should probably try to cross over your tweeters higher than 800Hz and a horn loaded 15" would struggle with that i think. i may be wrong but i dont think you will easily find something that does 100hz to 1000hz+ that isn't a sealed box or reflex. i look at the extro as the DIY 100hz high output midtop cab that is tried and tested.

Calling 4592Nd "tweeter" is a bit understatement.

If you want to use horn, 100-800hz is a bit of a stretch. 100hz horn needs to be too long to be really practical. 60cm deep horn would make overall depth of midbox to around 80cm, you could probably hit 120-130hz with that length. Ported horn could be an option? X-Tro's 15" part has too large compression chamber that at the same time boosts the low end but filters out highs so it won't work higher than 300-400hz as far as I know.

"if your one for good sound you should probably try to cross over your tweeters higher than 800Hz"

Why? They sound good crossed at 300hz on a good horn.

A 15 on a short horn would probably do the trick (or even a 12), you might look at a horn that would run lower than 800hz for the BMS too.

Thanks for the replies.

I have some EAW BH862 laying in one corner of my "shed" LOL
The do a great job in the 100Hz to 300Hz range but the BMS4592ND cant play that low. (Tried it with a Jabo Horn - 500Hz is ok, 300 is to low)
Would be great to have one cabinet to cover that range.

Ported Horn would be ok. The 18" subs are real hunks so the size of the mid is not a real problem.
I found some old JBL plans (JBL 4550A) they have the same size than the 18" subs but never heard them.

The BMS can cross at 300hz on this wood horn:

The bottom horn is how big you need to cross at 100hz.

hmm in one cab its really difficult, maybe only double 15" or double 12" reflex would do it with nice sound.
i'd go with a midbass and mids seperated, hornloaded and nice smooth drivers in it.
also 18" hornsubs are sounding better to be crossed lower than 100hz in my opinion.

@djk: As I said tried it with a Jabo KH72 Klick!
It plays down to 200Hz but does not good to me.
My 18" Subs are 1500 x  1000 x 900 cm (5ft x 3.2ft x 2.9ft) so enough space.
Did you have the plan for the lower section on your picture?

@Airbell:
In my opinion there are to many different 18" hornsubs to say something like that.
ie the Turbosound TSE 718 playing nice to 180Hz and doesnt sound honky at all.

I had build quad 12" reflex with Faital Pro speakers, I prefer the hornsound.

do some sort of vented horn or BPH to cover 80-200 Hz. then a straight FLH to cover 200-800Hz. doing all in one box from 100-800 means too many compromises i.e. bottom of vocal range going into subs, high volume kicks giving distortion of mids, large horn means big box or folds.

If you want to stick with a fully hornloaded system, the funktion one DS15 is a good speaker to look at. It covers 90-270 in the dance stack system. I built something similar myself with a smaller mouth and longer horn and it has no trouble getting to 100hz. I used the RCF MB15N401. The straight horn I built gets nowehere near 800hz; 300 is about the limit but I think I could stretch this further by shaping the back of the phase plug.

As has been said, you will struggle to play 100 to 800 in a horn but with the right driver and right design I think it is possible.
me so horny, me love you long throw.

)Thanks at snowflake & blotec!

Ok I get it 100 to 800 will not work.

I will try two double 15" vented horns (first off all get the plans and built a single one to listen Wink
and a double 12" front loaded.

Something like that:
