Hi all,

Im looking for a 4ohm or 8ohm speaker horn for my portable 24v system.
You know, the kind you would see on a train platform. Something for announcements.

Know of any? Would they be simply able to hook up to one channel of a Sure 2x100w amp or would they require some form of cross over (i.e. no internal crossover)?

What kind of wattage do you need? Would say 20w be extremely loud?

Thanks in advance

A

Size weight and cost will govern what you will be able to build, used PA cabinets are another option.

Bear in mind they have a fairly narrow frequency response, and tighter dispersion than cone drivers.

I think 400hz - 4khz is the standard. Last time I looked I think they came out at around 104db - so 20w will be plenty.

Their data sheets should tell you everything you need to know
