Hello,
i want to build 4x the 1850 horn. Which speaker sounds better in techhouse, techno and minimal music? I'm from germany so the VOID is more difficult to get for me but the PD1850 is more expensive... Cheers, m. |

They're both awesome.
Get the one that's cheapest/easiest for you. You might want to factor in the resale value though. PD should hold value better. Find out what others are using in Germany and try to match that. If everyone else uses PD and you use Void, then when you sell you might have trouble finding buyers.

nice ;) !!
Import from the UK is cheapest for me i think.
In Germany there are PDs and VOIDs, so it does not matter. Does the VOID sound deeper? I've read something like this i think... Thanks for your reply :) Cheers M. |

As far as I'm aware they both sound the same. I have 1850 horns with both Void and PD (I bought some PD loaded ones and was planning to replace the drivers with Void). They sound the same. I think the Void are slightly more sensitive. It seems to take less power to get them going, but once you get up to full power they are both the same. Good luck with the build! Once they're done, put them all in one pile, turn on and stand infront!!

In my honest opinion the PD sounds more 'rounded' somehow 'bouncy' with the lower frequencies. Which is something that I do prefer. But in all honesty the V1000's hoon... A friend of mine has 12 all loaded with the V1000's and when they are appropriately pushed they are arguably as 'round' as the PD's. But when played quieter I think that they honk a little more.
