Is the 1.5" horn designed to cope with one or two 12" horns?

If I plan on just one 12" horn per side, will the BMD740 be OK in lieu of the SD740N for L & R tops?

I think it's about high time we see some Porn Horn Porn (sorry, couldn't resist, I recon this page will not get many more hits from google at this rate, SafeSearch and all). Rog himself has barely even commented on them since their stealth unveiling. I think the naming is absolutely wicked and so is the logo.

@ Rog: So how about you show all (about the horns), measurements, driver alternatives (both HF and the 12(s)), considderations when stacking, etc.

And what is the optimum rear volume for the SN12B driver in the 12" horn?

@Martin - Stacks of Porn

It seems that the 12" and 1.5" porn horns match width wise with the HD15 horn when the HD15 horn is sideways orientated.  Even with two HD15 horns, the stack needs a bit more height, and perhaps a bit more in the bottom end.  But there is no way of getting an 18" whoppa underneath (e.g. X1) within the 578 width unless the sides are paper thin, so I guess we just have to make do with a fat bottom end.

Actually, I was thinking of an 18" horn similar to the Martin WSX (40hz hyperbolic horn that needn't fear operation in smaller stacks)and this seems to match up to the porn horns' dimentions pretty well. All depends on what fits best into 8x4 sheets/ makes the speaker fit best into the rear chamber/ makes transport simpler, etc.

I was thinking of 15 or even 12mm material for the top's construction, as this would make for a nice and light double horn top.

Rog mentioned that one wants to make the rear chamber as small as possible and I m toying with the idea of exposing the driver's back plate to ambient air by some means to keep the neo magnet cooler and reduce power compression.

Timber_MG says.... idea of exposing the driver's back plate to ambient air by some means to keep the neo magnet cooler and reduce power compression.

I am doing this in my bandpass bass horns and it works perfectly.. I am try this once in mid-horn but was not so happy with result .. seems that speaker frame "legs" and many sharp edges/ step area changes makes to much turbulence...

No, for the porn horns I wa thinking just to expose the driver back plate through the rear of the cabinet by putting a ring of sealing material on the driver and matching that to a circular hole in the access plate which would then press against the speaker when fastned.

You could always make a thin X1 or 1850horn & route-out a couple of slots in the walls to slip the driver in!
