Hi people,
I'm new to cab building and would like to build a 2x15"+2" version of the X15. Do I simply double the height to fit the two 15's in? What about the ports? do I also need to double these? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Ollie. |

You can build a 2x15 +2" cab but it won't really be an X15 any more!
You need some simulation software such as WinISD or BassBox Pro. Put in your drivers, the volume of the enclosure you'd like to use and it'll help you calculate the ports for a given tuning. Doubling the height and the ports would get you close but it's better to get it right. Which components are you intending to use? |

Thanks for the advice,
I'm using 2x Beyma G40 15" and a Renkus Heinz ssd 3301 2" comp. The boxes will be driven 2 way active with a DBX driverack PA, a Crown macrotech 1200 on 2" and a crown macrotech 3600 on 15's. Any ideas of where I can get bassbox pro or similar? Many thanks for the use of you brain! Ollie. |

Having a quick play I could only find params for the 15 G400, is it that or is there a G40 too?
Quick sim suggests about 120L box tuned to 55Hz would work well. Will you be using it on its own or with a sub underneath? If you're using a sub then you can tune the 15's higher cos you don't need the low extension. WinISD can be found here (First hit on google for WinISD!!!) |
