to get in touch whith the builder you can try this:

I see this is another software preamp, different from AMP Greece.

It is still for download on their site ( http://s444054441.onlinehome.fr/joomla/index.php//fr/projets/rdh-virtual-preamp/117-preamp-virtuel-rdh ) and I'm trying it out, but don't understand yet how it works. Where is the button to use the siren?

But embrace the technology, i have often thought i could build a monster pre out of a couple of Soundwebs and some potentiometers, like a control surface for a pre-amp, give the man a blank panel, tell him (ok, or her) to drill holes where they need a a control, tell me what that control does and i'll hook it in....

The assumption a pre-amp must be analog seems daft to me, these devices where built to push the tech of the day, to give control that off the shelf kit simply didn't offer, whilst I could argue an iLive could blitz any pre-amp I have always considered a pre-amp in the right hands as more a musical instrument than a processor...

As I have said before, I've run 5-way active flood light systems with full Soundweb LMS into BSS EPC racks taking all the out from a pre and re-processing them for the Flood.

The system plays like a normal system, the sound has his usual interface but it is taken to a different speaker platform and works well...

I think if the guy that built the first pre saw the current xilinx range it would have AES/EBU and ethernet as standard!!!!
Big smile
