Apparently for their 20" Driver, which they say can be dropped in
same box as PD186, but just needs larger cutout. nightfire_nf-scp20_rear_loaded_horn.pdf However, what would 1850/V18-1000/V18-1200 sound like in this box? EDIT: Just spoke to the designer (Ian) on his moby, and he recommends PD186 18PZB100 FANE He says the following work, but extra dosh isn't justified. 18 Sound (Don't know which one) 18TBX100 He didnt mention PD1850 or V18-1000. Nightfire says:
20" Scoop / Rear Loaded Horn - Are your 18" scoops not loud enough? The PR20120 in this relatively easy to build scoop design will BLOW YOU AWAY! 500W AES, 1000W Continuous, very low power compression and unbelievable sensitivity gives you MORE BASS from a cabinet no bigger than a 'standard' 18" scoop.
The 20120 really is a unique bass driver due to the way it behaves under power, giving you a 'truer' sub bass response, and insane SPLs! You won't be dissapointed...

What difference does it make having a straight bit of wood where the scoop normally would be?
I've heard it gives the sound more KICK is this the case? Thanks, Joe. |

I recon the sound will be sharper without the scoop part making the output smoother.
