The JBL system at Fabric (in room 1) was very poorly deployed. There was a line of subs under the stage, but also flown bass cabs in each corner. Bass frequencies were coming from 5 different sources resulting in uneven frequency response. Also each flown corner cluster had two non-splayed venue series mid/his, resulting in comb filtering, which was certainly audible. Not long before the JBL system was replaced by the excellent Martin W8C/WSX combination, the JBL system was re-configured with the flown bass cabs removed, and mid-hi cabs splayed. This was a big improvement, showing that correctly deploying a sound system will improve the sound. I wonder if this was an experiment prior to the Martin install? By the way, I preferred the Fabric system before half of the W8Cs were replaced by the Longbow. Apparently, the Fabric system was originally going to be a Thunder Ridge system. Not sure why this didn't happen (? JBL freebies). Having been a fan of the system at The End, that would have been interesting! The Phazon system at Cream/Nation, Liverpool (Main Room) which used JBL Venue mid-his was also disappointing. Not a match for the many Turbo Floodlight systems around nightclubs at the time (such as The Palace in Blackpool).

2 sounds systems that seriously dispointed.....the bar at the MOS and Fabric main room.
Not sure when but it was a long time ago now maybe 8 / 10 years.....very poor indeed for
super clubs....heard better in local crap night clubs.

Any good system can be ruined by a bad installation .

New addition for the bass. Crown K2. Massive damping factor around 10,000 below 100hz. Amazing bass. Very tight slam with definition. Can hear all bass notes easily. Certainly not woolly loose boom.
