Offset 1m stage left but 1m behind the stacks it's now still offset stage 1m left but 1m in front of 2 x F218 & 2 Res4 that are usually being driven pretty firmly.

Certain venue despite advice...

You need an old Prodigy sidefill:
3 x BSX
4 x F2B
3x F2Combi "arrayed" in a straight line so they sound REALLY HARSH AND SHOUTY
all stacked a metre or two from the DJ's ears...

The Achat claims 131dB max, although it doesn´t specify the level of distortion to achieve that.  Ermm

HI earplug

we opened up the achat 18 once, very well made and 18 sound drivers, i guess it could be down to the module in the monitor??

its only cabaret i'm doing, the rigging points on the achat are all superfluous,  and its only in case of disaster they will ever be used for pole mounting and foh.

i guess i am asking for suggestions for best sounding sub €500 euro active stage  monitor.

cheers

I´ve also bought a fair amount of kit from Thomann - and it generally does what it says on the box - and definitely good value for the buck. I just found that SPL claim a bit much. I´m sure it will do the job for you, especially for cabaret - unless it´s dubstep cabaret, of course!!
