More often than not though that is because they failed the quality control required by the name brand, and therefore are rebranded.

The idea of some of the copies coming from the same production line is often a rumour spread by the copiers to try to make you think the copies are as good. They are trying to give the impression they are using the same OEM factory as the higher priced product, this isnt necessarily the case.

There are OEM factories out there, that produce for more than one brand, and the quality does vary, where there is a choice of internal parts for assembly, the cheap brands usually use the cheap parts, and the premium brands, use premium parts. Coming out of the same factory as the premium parts does not make the cheap parts premium quality, they are still cheap parts and always will be. This happens a lot in DJ lighting products, where an individual brand can specify what internal components they want, and can lead to slight variation in the finished products.

I agree with your last comment. Could be the same  chassis  but cheap cones etc.
What I don't get is.. Why would RCF allow them to copy their drivers? there must be some copy right issues?
Just because you got more boxes that don't make you a man....
