so is it worth <£500 to get the 27" Dell U2713HM ultrasharp running 2560x1440 resolution, over the half priced asus VS276Q 1920x1080 resolution screen?

use will be gaming, watching blurays [1080p], and other computer stuff.... the Asus i could buy two of and dual them for the price of the Dell, but is that extra resolution and supposed quality going to be worth all that extra money?

for the 1080p blurays, won't make a difference i know, but what about games rendered in the actual higher res instead of 'blown up'...

Might be worth a look , the resolution is 2560 x 1080 which is great IMHO ultra wide screen .  Brilliant for watching movies in the letterbox format . I had a phillips tv in this resolution and wish id never sold it films are stunning in ultra widesceern without the black bars top and bottom. There is a cheaper one from aoc on there too at around £300.

I also have an iMac 27 which runs at 2560 x 1440 and the screen is stunning I'm sure there are some cheaper monitors at 27" 2560 x 1440 around the £300 mark .

That one uses the same panel as the iMac 27" so it will look great
