Can ports being in different places affect the sound in term of depth, spl etc..?

The only way the port placement can play a factor on the results is if they are blocked.

It depends on the tuning frequency. At 30-40hz wont mater. But if you tune mid top at like 90-100hz then it surely does.
HR have that feature you can check it.
