Hi
my first post...so sorry for my english.... We are the owners of some olds scoops, we are thinking about rebuilding them with some B&C 18063n-4 ( is a mix of the 18pzb100 and the 18nw100) with a new comception of magnet made by Neodimio. At this time the boxes ( as well as the original ones ) mount some speakers with 400\500 wrms... It's a project from '80s era...I'm looking for some tips about the power, because the new speakers have a power about 900 wrms ( that are almost the double of power), and meybe I can find some problems with the compression into the box, resulting in a loss of performance in the system... At this time I have some problem for testing the speaker into the box before buying it... so what do you think about? If do you need some other technical specifications let me know.... Lapo italy |

the boxes should be ok as long as there have been built with all the braces in the correct places.
however if the boxes already rattle a bit with the current lower power drivers you may have to add some extra bracing/ screws & glue to get them up to spec.
