The Coxone V Rodigan saga has taken media platforms by storm in a nutshell Coxone accuses Rodigan of not giving due props to SoundSystem Culture but also of not refuting claims that he his the Godfather of Reggae which has been bestowed on Roddy by the media. All this came about by a vid Coxone put out on Youtube.By the way if you don't know David Rodigan is a White reggae clash Selector, Coxone (Black Jamaican born British national) is the owner for Coxone Sound Outernational who have been one of main catalysts for rise in sound system culture through out the world but also the inventers of British reggae known as lovers rock.
What Ive noticed there are some people White/Black that have kept silent over this for whatever reason some have made a load of noise including myself what are people thoughts?

Sort of like playground argument. First the accusation was that roddy gave himself a title. That was never proved, so it's turned into the fact that he hasn't played it down... obviously those people never saw a flyer for sound system or noticed what mic men were saying plenty for decades.

For Lloydie, who as far as i know doesnt have a sound any more, it is his same game played out, hype & publicity. People lap it up & in amongst it all start revealing undercurrent feelings. But it all playground stuff. It's got personal and nasty and now is a bit boring. Sure it will be over as quick as it came. Some points brought up are relevant and worth making/discussing, but rather confused with the original accusation.

The problem is media (the big bullshit amplifier) that doesn't know British soundsystem culture.
It's easy to spread wrong info to generation that wasn't there to begin with, the current reggae fashion is hyped by people who don't know history, and certain people take advantage.

Btw, colour should play no part in the argument tho.
Freedom of choice, choice of freedom.

Coxsone sounds like Kanye West And the Kardashians, when they are out of spotlight, and need to do something ridiculous, to get it back.

Everyone knows Rodigan is not the GodFather of Reggae in UK, he is just the coolest white dude involved in Reggae internationally.

Coxsone going on about all he and his soundsystem has done for Reggae, is self praise.

No one person can say the they are the GodFather of Reggae in UK, black or white.

In my books, most Famous UK Soundsystem of all time, must be Saxon, and you don't hear them whining about Rodigan.

My mates will provide soundsystem for next Rodigan dance in Tottenham, they expect 2000+ crowd.
People will be dancing and enjoying music, people who love politics, will be involved in pasa pasa!!

If he turns me into a zombie, first person I'm coming after is you.

Yes Levi (Saxon)who was in the know felt strongly about Rodigan to the point that he released 'Ram Jam Capitalism' in 1987 accusing Roddy of using people and the reggae culture for his own means and not helping those who had supported him. Obviously there is more to the allegation but those who are in the know know.
