Playing with limiter always had its shortcomings and limitations. For unskilled person, you basically change your system from cone excursion limited to power limited. And as ordinary limiter is a brute method to cut the signal, you put more and more power to the speaker, which on the other hand gets poorer cooling with less movement (disproportionally to the signal strenght), so it´s happier to burn itself down.
So unless it´s really clever limiter, soft, checking short term and long term power input to the speaker, I´d say it´s not ideal solution. I´d rather upgrade the speaker if it cannot cope with ones demands at that point.
Nikon and Canon people should not be married to each other. Why did you let this happen?
