Hi everyone,
I’m with a little of trouble repairing a Behringer EP2500... The amplifier had experienced a voltage surge. It had bad power and driver transistors and a bad capacitor (completely shorted 12000uf!) After first repair the amplifier turned on! However I’m having trouble! If I power on the amplifier with no load, it powers fine, but if I try to power it on with a load attached it stays in protect until I turn the gain knob up (more than half...) The other issue, when I started to pull power from the amplifier I realized it is clipping to soon! I attached a screenshot of 1kHz sine wave, as you see it have a 100Hz “dip” on it! What do you think? An open capacitor? Someting wrong on the signal or power path? https://ibb.co/gKqAEF - https://pt.imgbb.com/ - free image hosting Thanks in advance, Edited by nitrokart - 06 September 2017 at 5:45pm |

check the negaitve rail, it does not reach the full voltage swing.

Support the scoop technology, larger mouth plays louder!

Also check the class H circuit (Switching FET'S & Diodes).

could be the pcb through-holes. They can fail around the base of the 10,000uF capacitors leaving them out of circuit.

As per Kev's post. Whether it's the caps or the PCB I'd say you've got a bit of PSU ripple going on there.

Hi,
Thanks all for your help! It was indeed a PCB via... It wasn't connecting the top and bottom layers (on a 12000uf cap) , a quick jumper and it's back runnig fine! kedwardsleisure, you find it at fisrt guess! you rock!
