Hi All,

i've been trying to modify the X12 plans to fit my sound system needs and wanted to share it to see if there is anything wrong I'm doing before starting to build these..

attached is a general plan of both regular X12 and single 12". The single version has 18Sound 1" horn XT120 placed on it at the moment.

As shown in the cads I have split the speaker using the middle point/line passing by the center of the 2 ports.
Also reduced the size of the ports to 5 cm diameter instead of 10 cm as the original x12.

The speakers stack will be 2 sets  of 2 cubo12 + 1 cubo12 Kick , so looking at having these modified single x12 form 250 Hz and above.

I don't have the possibility to run simulations on the computer for these unfortunately...

any suggestion or comment would be very helpful !!

thank  you

Theres also the 18 sound 12+hf

I don't know how it compares to the b&c or how either of them compare to commercially available cabs.

Anyone?

do you own any of the parts already?
if not there are quite ok finished boxes available at reasonable costs now (cheaper than one could do diy, even without labour..) the box pro achat 112m for example ;)

thank you for the replies, I haven't got the drivers yet still considering few options...I have used B&C drivers on other projects I've built and was quite pleased with them

the pro a chat has a competitive price for sure, I'm not familiar with them just read ppl reviews on the web ..I just wonder about the drivers quality compared to the b&c ones I want to use.

the b&c box design seems a good option, just a bit more complicated to build than the more simple x12...more angled cuts etc. Frequency graph looks right for the my needs...
I've also found this b&c design that is bit easier to build than the F121

...I would extend the box externally to add a deeper base and help stability...

I guess I could also swap the me20 horn for the 18sound x120, I like the elliptical design and have read good reviews on it so I was curious to try it out. both have same coverage angles...

I was considering the 18sound design I just can't find the recommended driver and haven't really compared it parameters to other drivers I'm able to buy here.

all these enclosures I am looking at
