As well as the missing screw, you would think that the handles would have been rebated on a so called quality cabinet---the pole socket is, but not the handles--obviously too expensive for a CNC machine to perform such a minor task in the factory!!!!!

EV are like Jekyll and Hyde, brilliant moments and then stuff like this, or using OSB wood, or 18 drivers with 2.5 voice coils.
Almost industry standard SX300 cabs have a very lowly looking driver inside, but they sound good and have been a serious success. |

Btw when I was kid in 80's and saw some home audio cerwinvega bass drivers, laughed a lot because of those tiny tiny magnets - until I heard them :)
But I cant close my eyes about these tiny magnet-steel basket EV drivers having too much similarities for Skytec etc. crappy cheapo drivers :D |

Perhaps my sarcasm didn't come through as well as intended - I meant to allude to the fact that it could be only a 175W (continuous) driver, with the 700 being only valid for short term peaks. EV's choice to describe the product as a 700W system without specifying what measurement criteria that's based on could lead some to believe it's much more powerful than that. Contrast that with say the Yammi DXS12 (admittedly 1.75x the price), which actually bothers to specify that its amplifier delivers 950W "dynamic" and 600W continuous, and one can at least make a slightly better informed judgement as to what to expect based on the specs.

Shame I didnt snap a pic of the amp but as it wasn't faulty I put it back in straight away. To be fair it had been thrashed into a seized driver without damage.
