Sorry, yes it is a 3U Amp. Perhaps I should have mentioned that sooner.
Cheers for your input Andy, still runs very well. regards Tim Pell |

Hi guys, we've recently aquired 2 Harfield M2000 power amps from a night club that had closed down... If anyone could post the specsof said amp I'd really appreciate it... I was also wondering how much do you think one of these ams would sell for. We have 2 so we might sell one...

Hello Kneal,
I've had one of these for nearly 4 years now, I brought it second hand. Very heavy but very reliable, I use it for Dj'ing and have run it with the volume turned up to 11 with no problems on some very low impediances. I have been in touch with the forum member 'AndyAmp' it's one of his amplifiers. Originally made by Matrix and re-branded as a Harfield amp. It's rock Solid down to 2 Ohm's a side here are the specs. 2 x 1000 Watt RMS @ 2 ohms 2 x 550-600 Watt RMS @ 4 ohms 2 x 300-350 (ish) Watt RMS @ 8 ohms 1 x 2000 Watt RMS @ 4 ohms (Bridged) 1 x 1100 Watt RMS @ 8 ohms (Bridged)
Are you in the UK? I might be interested to take one off your hands then I could Bi-Amp my current setup rather than running a Mono Bridge. Regards Tim |

rather nice robust amps these, didn't Matrix add a peak-hold meter to the Harfield versions?

Yes indeed they did. I've never actually timed it but it's about a 3 second hold once you hit -3db on the meter.
