When looking at the side view of the box, the reflex part is L shaped, couldn't having that narrow part behind the HD section cause some unwanted resonances within the cabinet?

No difference at the frequency 18's cross to HDs. Some cabinets with shelf ports have parts of the main cavity shaped quite similarly, also think of the rear chamber in a WSX - doesn't look like it would be a great shape for an acoustic cavity but the freqs are low so it works.

Smallest problem of this "unusual" idea. Dont think it will ever be built tbh....... Just too big and useless

I have a feeling it will be built LOL and not just because the cut sheet has been posted already.

Not so much bigger than a scoop, no heavier than a 221 cab. I can see the utility, honestly, for a personally operated system for private events where that combination of cabs is always used.

Less setup/pack down time, more coherent looking/stable rig, all that extra size and weight will have a fractional benefit on losses through kinetic energy especially if it's well braced.

The name Tony Insanity rings a bell also ;)

It's a bit crazy and not a good design objectively but for a specific regular sort of outdoor gig, why not?

The biggest problem I see with the design is being front heavy. All that wood from the HD15 plus two drivers at the front, very little going on at the back. Put a lot of bracing in the back IMO, to offset the balance and increase stability in one shot.

.....you might also look for her companion, a large Chinese rabbit, who is easy to spot since he is only standing on his hind feet in the shade of a cinnamon tree...

I hadn't thought of the weight at the front tbh but as you said plenty of rear bracing will sort that out.. 👍

So I've made a start on these bins, just doing a few test runs to check that the program is stable. The Aluminum skin turned out okay, pretty happy with it for fit. Will post some more pics as it progresses..
