my big mistake was not getting everything cut at b and q... if u trust the guy or slip him a tip i think they can cut it much better and quicker then most of us could.  make the 5 sectional bit using one 600mm jig.

I used to get  my mdf for internal panels at B&Q and got it pre-cut to save doing full sheets on my crappy little table saw (also from B&Q)...also saves borrowing a van. Problem was they had a policy of cutting within 3mm of requested dimensions, which seemed a bit ridiculous.. The guys used to get arsey if I stressed the necessity of straight accurate cuts, so one of them once told me i'd have to do it myself, and let me walk around the counter and play with their huge wallmount saw. He didn't seem to have considered the insurance connotations!

And yes..B&Q Birch ply isn't the real deal..

i didnt think so now that ive worked with it but im too far along to do anything about it now!  guess i will have to grin and bear it.  the next time i build a load of speakers im gonna use 25mm birch ply as ive found a place that sells it for 40 a sheet and its the proper stuff!

been thinking about my whole system and at present have come up with something like this....

the whole concerns i have is using the hds on there side as i have not seen many ppl do this.  has anyone used them like this?  incidently its nice that 3 hds are about the same size as 2 x1's...the x1's are only 18mm bigger.

half a mt122. gonna make 6 mt121's but i dont think i'll ever use more then 4 at one time.

re the hd's: i was just thinking it might mess up the dispersion if you rotated them 90 degrees

Hey thats my stack! (or atleast it will be... exactly what I'm building!)

I was gunna have 8HDs but after seeing that piccy.. it's gotta be 12! Didn't realise 3 Hds fitted so well!

We only have the 4 X1s so far  (but I have been investing in processing and ampage, and thats now all sorted bar 1 amp).

I was also wondering the same thing about dispersion.. has anyone any clues? I would imagine the dispersion would be narrower this way? but only slightly??

i have finally got all my panels cut and most of the routering done!  man its taken ages.... things have only really got moving now that ive got some holidays instead of trying to fit things into my weekends!

I have cut and glued 6 curves made from 5 pieces of wood.   as a novice woodworker this slowed me down and in retrospect if i knew how much hassle it would have been i would have made the curve out of bendy mdf. The sectionally curve does look quite nice though, and now that ive made most of the templates its no longer a chore to construct it in this manner.

heres some pics of one of the six curves with the baffle...
