    Posted: 21 April 2006 at 12:33pm

Hi everyone

Im getting some HD215's built soon so i thought id knock up the drawings in CAD with all the butt joints and dado channels marked so i could get them cnc'd to speed up the build/lower the cost.

Ive made a couple of mistakes that need correcting and havent put the dimensions on yet but i was wondering if anyone else had any plans i could have a look at... im looking to make the curved section out of 5 angled strips...

Im starting with the HD215's, then im gonna draw the mt122, then the lab horn.  all drawings will come with a cutting plan too.  if enough ppl want it i'll post it 4 download.

What CAD program are you using?  I'm very interested!

erm sorry to have slowed this project down but what with trying to do this one, the punisher and mt121 all at once my time has been at a premium.... and it doesnt help that work now expect me to actually work when i turn up!!!

at the moment im using autocad LT as its quick for me to turn things out...  im gonna start on a 3d cad soon...maybe proengineer or more likey solidworks  [again all from work... you should be aware that if u use cad at work then its actually legal for u to get a copy for home use free!!!]

i think solid works will let me calculate weight but if not then i'll def use proe.

no ones come up with much help on the 5 sectional wood design so together with pictures and undimensioned plans from other threads and the polygon generator in autocad lt ive decided just to make the best that i can.

then i'll post a complete plan with the full dimensions, cutting list, and maybe set by set build pics...  doesnt the sun just get u in the mood to build stuff!

I can't  remember the last time I built a cab where the plans weren't drawn on the back of a used envelope/fag packet/beer mat etc...

Well,,, I draw on AutoCAD, but I must admit that changes to the plan are using a pencil on the print out.  I really should go back and update the drawing before I need to build more.

Beer mat?  That's a great idea! I think I've got a few of those laying around!

finally finalised the plan for my version...was thinking of having the brace going almost to the mouth of the cab but i cant be assed with doing all the cutting with a jigsaw man! now ive got cad at home i should do a cutting list too... no rest for the wicked.

if anyone needs autocad2007 on the sly i have figured out a way to get the 30 day demo to convert to the full version.  btw i = read it on the net somewhere... im no computer wiz kid!
