Just dusted of an old design project i made som years ago. Just for fun...
It started out as a tripple HD15, but i have made some changes to it now :) Separate chambers for each driver, instead of one large chamber. Bigger chambers and deeper cab with longer flare, compared to HD15. Maybe someone has the time and desire to make some sims of the design? Got two drivers i wanted to try out. PD 154 and RCF LF15N401. Anybody up for it?? :D ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Having the drivers share the same chamber goes well enough but if something bad happens to one driver the other is more likely to follow than if they were in separate chambers. Having them in separate chambers shouldn't be much of a constructional problem and personally would leave a panel in there anyway, to function as bracing. Increasing the depth, lowers the tuning of the cabinet by two means, increased horn length and chamber volume, meaning the lower usable limit and the upper usable limit shift down. The tuning in relation to the horn mouth changes, so it's likely the frequency response changes as well. It's best if you simulate this before building anything.

Hi Guys.
Quick little question about the HD15. If i was to make a dual version, side by side like a Turbosound TSE215, would it then have any effect to make it with a combined chamber for both drivers, instead of seperate chamber for each driver? Also, how much would it affect the performance if i made the cab 20cm deeper, and at the same time changed the curvatory of the horn flare so it matches the 20cm extra depth of the cap? Regards... Frank
