Blimey, didn't know JTS had switched to Powersoft, not seen them for a while tho ... Spoke to K while ago and had a conversation around bs peak output for miliseconds not being suitable for reggae/dub. At that time he talked about bench tests and wasn't impressed.
Still have love for his UA series amps.

UA series had great sound, but just not enough power for 6-8x  1850s.

JTS driving 6x Redeye off K20, is apparently life changing experience!!

From where I reference from, if Tubbs is using that, then that's a very good advertisement. The crew I was involved with seriously tested Aba on bass more than once using UA.

WSP, Aba, JTS, Iration specialize in pounding you with 35-50hz sub, with approx 6x-8x Subs, covering 500-1000 people.

So maybe different Arena to RC1.

How so? ive heard RC1 pound a few hundred people with 4 bins or 5000 people with 16 in exactly the same frequency band you are mentioning, iv'e also heard them shaking a building in the mid to high 20s.

Consider the number of drivers in that stack of 16 subs

More than one I'm led to believe :)

I would ask what you’re going to put that much continuous power into? The biggest rated drivers will burn if you give them more than 600-700w long term. Fact. You should base your amp purchase on the peak voltage capability of an amp compared to your boxes. Another reason why the Powersoft is popular.

I have 4x McCauley 6174 (4r) drivers. The plan is that they are to be installed into some bespoke two piece folded horns with around 11feet of horn path (playing 25hz-80hz). The 3-4k was a rough guestimate to allow some headroom. They're serious sub drivers not common here in the UK. The main goal is control of cones, hence why I am looking for amps that are sub friendly.   Above that will be 4x direct radiating 2206h per side from 80hz-500hz
above that some BMS 2" neo coax's on jbl 2365a biradials. 80hz and up is being handled by Chevin amps.

Well it's measured in seconds on the K series, so that's not really an issue. I guess trying it and doing your own research rather than just listening from what some other guy told you is better?

Those drivers would be a perfect match for Crest 10001 which would offer you double rms at 2 ohms. Check the spec.
