Like the way the amp is shown running into 'CLIP'........ Can't really see the point in a 400/side (800W into 4 Ohm Bridged) amp now-a-days....All be-it 'REAL power.
Loved these amps back in the day. I Had loads of them.

The guitar boy's love them but they don't need mega watt amps which is part of the reason they still hold a reasonable price second hand (especially in the states)

The scalar amp looks abit (if you are drunk) like a S500d.  With power compression and damping I can see a use for 400w aside Wink.

Jay,i also mailed them (and phoned them) a few times about these,no answer at all.which is a shame.

To answer your question, not sure if its built like the old original one, that had 16 TO3 HH-badged Hitachi k135/j50 mosfets, which of course, are no longer made.

How long will it last? Until we get to look at one,who knows what is inside and how long it will last?

I doubt if you ever will either, the fact a company produces a product for that amount of time (gotta be getting on for two years now) and no ones seen of heard one seem very suspicious to me, the fact the don't reply to emails would make me even more suspicious why would you make a product then not go out of your way to supply it?

Personally I think they've just hashed up something for advertising let's face it the V800 was/is a pretty iconic amp and quite well know throughout the world.
As you've already said until someone get's their hands on one we'll never know.
