I have recently downloaded Hornresp, a very good program to simulate Horn Design,(this compliment goes to David J McBean).

Can some Kind Hearted Horn Guru help me how to calculate the length of the horn, for a particular design (i.e. say punisher horn). I want to know how to calculate the different conical sections to enter for the folded horn segments.

Thanks,

Criss.

simple, measure down the middle of the flares on the designs (roughly middle anyway) and maybe add on a bit up to 10% i dunno how walt dealt with end correction, where the horn flare theoretically carries on beyond the limitation of the cabinet/horn mouth, until the soundwaves realise there are no boundaries any more.

The end correction amounts to half the mouth circumference apparently.

"The end correction amounts to half the mouth circumference apparently."

Doesn't make any sense.

The mouth of an array of modular bass horns needs to have a circumference of 1W, about 35' in 4Pi for 32hz. In 2Pi this would be about 8-3/4' wide by 4-3/8' tall, close to a four stack of Lab 12 cabinets (a six pack would be 115%).

They will really start going to town above the 1/2W length (mouth to throat). I might spot you 1/2 of the width of the horn mouth for end correction (very generous). So with the above example we would need an overall length of 17' less 4-3/8', or 12-5/8' total length inside the box. Hmm, how long is a Lab 12 from the throat to the mouth?
